The Mom Bob

I know you’ve all seen her. That cool mom. The stylish mom. The hot mom. That mom looking so gorgeous and chic because her mom bob is on point. Don’t act like you’ve never seen and desired the mom bob

I must admit that the bob is my favorite hairstyle because it is so versatile and trendy. The bob is a timeless, ever changing, and unique hairdo that is sure to turn heads. The ease of manageability makes this hair style perfect for corporate women on the rise, busy women on the go, and the rest of us 24/7-365 moms. Let’s face it, the mom bob keeps us “hip” <Do people still say that?> looking like the mom we’ve all seen and secretly desired to be.

Now, I currently don’t have my own tresses cut into a bob. Nope. Husband is out on me chopping off my mid back length, natural hair; however, I’m forever incorporating this look thanks to various wigs I own. My husband always says between my natural hair and the wigs interchanging, it is like meeting a new woman each week. I must agree that when I add a pop of color or wear an asymmetrical bob my swagger is undeniable. Nothing like looking cute and feeling great because your hair is on fleek. <Is fleek still a thing?>

So with all that being said, ladies embrace your bob! Rock your bob! Shake your bob! Take each stride in confidence knowing that your hair is so gorgeous  no one even notices that you’re wearing yoga pants to the library story time, again. Seriously, again. Whether you cut your own hair or wear a cute wig, own your bob and show it off like only you can.

Make this week stylish,

Homeschool Tips and Tools

Here at Team Kemp Academy we are truly enjoying our homeschool journey. Every day is filled with new discoveries, new tactics to help my children/students stay on task, and opprotunities to create awesome memories. I can’t believe our oldest is starting second grade and our youngest is one month old. Time is certainly flying by in a marvelous way.

I still remember our first day of our first year of homeschool and all the feelings that came with it. I can’t promise that your start or process in this journey will be easy but I do want you to have resources to help you get started or take your homeschool to the next level. Below you will find videos from my Spring 2015 Homeschool Tips and Tools series. Feel free to use these helpful hints and resources to make your homeschool a great place for the scholars you birthed and raise.

Homeschool Support, Encouragement, and Resources: Finding resources for your homeschool can be challenging especially when it seems that you don’t have the support of those around you. Don’t fret because I support you and decided to share some encouragement to brighten your day.

How to find, create, or join a Homeschool Group: Ever wonder if there are other homeschool families in your area? Want to start a weekly park meet up or library time for your children? Need to chat with parents that understand your choice to educate at home? Check out this video for details on how to find likeminded homeschoolers and create a parent group in your area.

Homeschool Rewards Programs: Did you know that popular reading rewards programs are now offered to homeschool students? Your students can be rewarded with pizza, ice cream, and even local amusement park tickets. Here you will find information about a few of our favorite incentive programs.

Homeschool Field Trips: Did you know that by inviting other homeschool families to your scheduled field trip your group can pay the discounted school rate? Yep, just an invitation will save your family and others money on planned field trips. In addition, I share how you can add a field trip to your current unit study or weekly theme.

Homeschool Organization (Planner & Curriculum): Just a few resources to add encouragement pieces to your homeschool planner and how our work is organized.

I truly hope this homeschool series helped you and feel free to share it with other families. It is our family prayer that our arrows flourish while being educated at home and any tools or tips to aid in that process is greatly appreciated. We pray that your school is blessed and you have a terrific academic year.
Happy homeschooling!

FORGIVE (verb) to give up resentment of or claim to requital for <forgive an insult>

-to grant relief from payment of <forgive a debt>

-to cease to feel resentment against (an offender): pardon

This topic is often deemed taboo in both natural and spiritual conversations. On one hand we all agree that forgiveness is necessary; however, we also agree that it is hard to truly forgive someone who has wronged you. I thought about writing a great blog post about how I’ve finally taken heed to the warning from God, studied the Bible, subsequently applied the scriptures, and conquered this giant called “FORGIVENESS”. The length of that post probably would’ve been equivalent to my future dissertation therefore, I opted to record a video instead. Just click play to hear how I gave it to God and he provided me with the tools needed to slay the giant named “FORGIVENESS”.

My keys to ultimately saying “I forgive you” were drawn from studying what God says about the topic in his word. Through devotion time and Bible study I learned that your prayers are hindered when you don’t forgive, the same grace and mercy you wish to receive should be given unto others, and though forgiveness is deemed hard it is definitely doable. The most important thing I learned is that FORGIVENESS IS A REQUIREMENT, NOT A REQUEST. Yep, God requires us to forgive others and I promise that every benefit and blessing gifted to you from The Most High will be worth it.

forgive tshirtDuring my study I also came across a new movement called the #iforgiveyouchallenge via a play I saw by Laterras R. Whitfield. This play was centered on forgiving others as God forgives us and learning to move forward from any bondage that comes from holding onto hurtful life experiences.

forgive 1

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and the recorded testimony of my growth in this area. I truly pray that you too find peace through forgiving all those that have wronged you knowingly, unknowingly, and even indirectly. I challenge you to check out and join the #iforgiveyouchallenge movement because my life is much sweeter thanks to the peace received once I completely let go.

Make this week peaceful,
